Today in class we presented our projects. Leigh made Greek lasagna and Olivia made cheesecake. Both were really good. Our presentation went well and I think we will get a good grade.

Today we took notes on Prehistory to Civilization. The Origins and "Ages" of Human Beings 200,000 years ago, a human species emerged in southwestern Africa 14,000 years ago, a worldwide human race existed Earliest prehistoric age is the Paleolithic Age (Old Stone Age) Neolithic Age (New Stone Age) was marked by advanced tool making & beginnings of Agriculture Initially, humans were parts of migratory groups which hunted, fished, and gathered plants for food The Agricultural Revolution Known as the Neolithic Revolution, this was a shift from hunting/gathering to more permanent settlements centered on agriculture populations rose due to an increased ability to produce a surplus of food; thus feeding and caring for young children hierarchies appeared in village life; the status of women was lowered as women were confined to more domestic duties

Wednesday September 26

Today in class we talked about maps some more. We saw maps that dated back to before the birth of Christ. The maps looked very, very different than what we see now. Eratosthenes created the first map of the world. This map completely left out North and South America. This map was made in 300 B.C; before a lot of the world had been discovered and before satellite imagery. The other maps weren't as different than our map now, but it's still very different. It was very interesting to see how people's ideas of the earth and its continents have changed.

Monday September 17

Today in class, we took a test. I hope I did well on it, however, there were some questions that I was not sure about. While studying for this test, I used my previous blog entries and notes from class. I am very annoyed because I almost put the answer Denali for the extra credit question, but I thought that was wrong, so I didn't get the extra credit. Other than that, I think I did well on the test. I found the questions about A Message To Garcia the easiest because I studied a lot for that, although I still found the Socrates questions easy. Hopefully I did do well on this test, because I thought it was easy.
