 Today in class we had a substitute and had to read pages from the textbook.
  •  About 80 million people migrated from the United States between the years 1820 to 2015
  • There are 7.2 million immigrants from Germany in the United States
  • The majority of immigrants that came from Africa came to the United States as slaves
  • Immigration stopped for a little bit during World War II and during the Great Depression 
  • The three major eras of immigration in the United States are   
    •  Colonial settlement in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries 
    • Mass European immigration in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. 
    • Asian and Latin American immigration in the late twentieth and twenty-first centuries
