The Unexamined Life is Not Worth Living

Today in class we talked more about Socrates. One of Socartes most famous quotes is "The unexamined life is not worth living." This quote means that if you are not thinking about your life, then you're not living to your full potential. As we had previously discussed in class, the highest level of knowledge, is knowledge about knowledge itself, so to think about life, or think about thinking, you are truly living to your fullest potential. If you spend your life not thinking for yourself and just going along with what you are told, without questioning it, you are not living to your fullest potential. I think this quote is especially important today because a lot of people my age don't have their own opinions about things and just go along with what their parents have told them and not going along with what is morally right. As a 14 year old, I am old enough to start making my own opinions about things, and to question things that I don't agree with. I think people my age need expand their opinions, or at least understand why they have these opinions, other than that their parents believe in certain things.
